Split a CSV file
Break a CSV that's too big to open or import into smaller parts, or into one file per group. It all runs in your browser.
Two ways to split
By row count: choose how many rows each part should have, for example 50,000, and the file is cut into equal chunks. By column value: pick a column such as country, team or status, and you get one file per distinct value. Either way the parts come as a zip.
Each part stands on its own
Every part keeps the header row, so each file can be opened or imported independently. Rows stay in their original order.
When to split
Import tools often cap uploads at a number of rows or megabytes, Excel can't open more than 1,048,576 rows, and email attachments have size limits. Splitting by a column is handy for sending each team, client or region only their own rows.
Your files stay on your device
Big exports are often full customer or transaction lists, so they're split on your device. The work happens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored on a server. Once the page has loaded it keeps working offline, and it's free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Questions
How do I split a CSV that's too big for Excel?
Split it by row count, for example into parts of 500,000 rows, and open each part separately.
Does every file keep the header row?
Yes. The header row is copied to the top of each part.
Can I split a CSV into one file per category?
Yes. Split by column value and choose the column; each distinct value gets its own file.
Is there a size limit?
No fixed limit. Very large files are bounded only by your device's memory.
