Split a PDF

Pull out the pages you need, or break a long PDF into smaller files. The splitting happens in your browser, so the document stays on your device.

Three ways to split

Extract page ranges such as 1-3, 8, 10-12 to get exactly the pages you list. Split every page to get one PDF per page. Or split every N pages to cut a long document into equal chunks, for example a 60-page scan into six 10-page files.

When the split produces several files, you can download them together as a zip.

Nothing is re-rendered

Pages are copied into the new files as they are, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality. Each part is a normal PDF that opens anywhere.

Limits worth knowing

The split works on one PDF at a time. Password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked first. Bookmarks and fillable form fields from the original may not carry over to the parts.

Splitting doesn't compress anything: a page that held a 5 MB scan is still about 5 MB on its own. To make the parts smaller, run them through Compress PDF.

Your files stay on your device

Long PDFs are often bundles of private records, like bank statements, medical letters or HR files, which is why the split runs locally. The work happens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored on a server. Once the page has loaded it keeps working offline, and it's free, with no sign-up and no watermark.

Questions

How do I extract just one page from a PDF?

Choose page ranges and type the page number, for example 4. You get a one-page PDF containing only that page.

Can I split a PDF into individual pages?

Yes. Choose "every page" and each page becomes its own PDF. With more than one page you can download them all at once as a zip.

Does splitting a PDF reduce its quality?

No. Pages are copied without re-rendering, so text and images look exactly as they did in the original.

Is my PDF uploaded when I split it?

No. Your browser reads and splits the file on your own device, and nothing is sent to a server.
