Convert PNG to BMP
Turn PNG images into BMP bitmaps for older software. Everything happens in your browser, so your images never leave your device.
Why convert PNG to BMP?
PNG keeps every pixel, but that makes photos heavy, and some places ask for a different format. BMP is simple and uncompressed, and some older or specialised software won't take anything else.
Transparent areas get a background
BMP has no transparency, so any transparent parts of your PNG are filled with a solid colour. White is the default, and you can pick another colour before converting, for example to match the page or slide the image will sit on. If you need to keep the transparency, convert to WebP instead.
Quality is preserved
PNG and BMP are both lossless, so every pixel carries over exactly. BMP is usually uncompressed, so the file will be noticeably larger than the PNG.

Questions
What happens to transparent areas when I convert PNG to BMP?
BMP can't store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a background colour. It's white by default, and you can choose any colour before converting.
Will converting PNG to BMP reduce quality?
No. Both formats are lossless, so every pixel is kept exactly.
Are my PNG images uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, on your own device, so your images are never sent to a server. Once the page and converter have loaded, it keeps working even if your connection drops.
