Convert Word to HTML
Turn a DOCX into tidy HTML you can drop into a website or CMS, without the bloated markup Word's own export produces.
Clean HTML, not a copy of the page
The converter maps the document's structure to the matching HTML: headings to <h1>–<h6>, lists to <ul> and <ol>, tables to <table>, plus paragraphs, bold, italics and links. It deliberately leaves out fonts, colours, sizes and spacing, so the HTML picks up your site's styles instead of fighting them.
Why not Word's "Save as web page"?
Word's own HTML export recreates the look of the document with inline styles, conditional comments and Office-specific markup. It's hard to edit and clashes with any stylesheet. Content extraction gives you the opposite: short, readable HTML that says what each part of the document is.
Get the structure right in Word
Headings are recognised from Word's built-in Heading styles. Text you made big and bold by hand is just a bold paragraph to the converter, so apply Heading 1, Heading 2 and so on before converting if you want a proper outline. Text boxes and other floating layout elements may not come through.
Your files stay on your device
Drafts of articles, policies and help pages are converted on your device before they're ever published. The work happens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored on a server. Once the page has loaded it keeps working offline, and it's free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Questions
Does the HTML include the Word formatting?
Only the structure: headings, lists, tables, emphasis and links. Fonts, colours and spacing are left out on purpose so the HTML takes on your site's styling.
Why are my headings showing up as paragraphs?
They were probably formatted by hand rather than with Word's Heading styles. Apply Heading 1, Heading 2 and so on in Word, then convert again.
Can I paste the result into WordPress or another CMS?
Yes. Clean, semantic HTML is exactly what CMS editors handle best. Paste it into the HTML or code view of the editor.
Can I convert several DOCX files at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like and download the HTML files one by one or together as a zip.
